The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Dense
Smoke Advisory, which is in effect until 1 PM AKDT Wednesday.
* LOCATION...The eastern Kenai Peninsula from around the Sterling
and Seward Highway junction southward to Seward.
* SMOKE...Smoke from the Swan Lake fire will reduce visibilities
to one quarter mile or less at times. The worst conditions will
be late at night through the morning hours.
* TIMING...Through Wednesday, though there is potential for dense
smoke to persist through the remainder of the week.
* IMPACTS...Travel may be difficult due to low visibility.
Persons with respiratory problems may have difficulty breathing
when outside.

Information:
A dense smoke advisory means widespread fires will create smoke,
limiting visibilities. If driving, slow down, use your
headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a
sudden stop is needed. For the latest road conditions call 5 1 1
or visit 511.alaska.gov.
